→ Click to schedule an appointmentIn 1986, he enrolled in the Honors College at the University of Michigan, earning the Sophomore Honors Award (1988) and the Angell Scholar Award (1989). He graduated in 1990 with High Honors in Biology.
In 1990, he began medical training at the Stanford University School of Medicine and graduated in 1995 with a Dean's Award. During medical school, he was awarded a prestigious research fellowship with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in 1992.
Following medical school, he completed his General Surgery internship at the Yale University School of Medicine. He then pursued residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Washington, where he received multiple clinical and research distinctions.
